Brimmond x Genoa Black

Defining how an engineering
firm can enter the Middle East

Industry: Energy and marine sector engineering

.

Brimmond is an engineering organisation delivering hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical solutions, across energy and marine sectors.

Challenge

Brimmond took the decision to consider the opportunity of entry into the Middle East market. The senior management team believed that entering the market had the potential to further lift the turnover of the business. Too add, it was also viewed that market entry would secure the business against decline in its primary North Sea market.

Before acting they needed some due diligence executed to confirm the presence and scale of opportunity. If an opportunity was validated, they then also required an expert recommendation on what entry mode would suit in relation to seizing it.

Our work

Brimmond commissioned Genoa Black to conduct a market entry project. Firstly the team was asked to validate whether there was an opportunity to enter the market. Following establishing that there was in fact an opportunity, the team was then requested to make a recommendation on the best model for entering the market.

Service mix offered

  • > We conducted a large scale market opportunity assessment to diagnose whether there was a valid opportunity in the target market.

  • > Our business strategy team defined a model best suited for entering the market and developed a 5 year entry plan.

Tom Murdoch, Managing Director, Brimmond
