Quick fire questions with: Clara Montgomery

We asked our wonderful Client Manager, Clara, quick fire questions about herself and her role.

What is your role and how long have you worked with Genoa Black?

I have been working with Genoa Black since the start of 2023 as a Junior Client Manager, progressing into my current role as Client Manager in August of 2023.

Why do you like working with Genoa Black and your role as a whole?

Expertise isn’t siloed, and I really enjoy tapping into the collective mindshare across departments in an open environment. It also means we can provide multidisciplinary support to inform and strengthen growth roadmaps for our clients through innovative means.  All opinions are valued and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of a fantastic team of professionals who motivate and inspire me on a daily basis.

What are you most looking forward to in your role in 2024?

I love getting the opportunity to work with businesses and teams of all shapes and sizes, with various challenges and growth objectives across the country. It makes for a very versatile workload which means I’m continually learning.

What is your favourite kind of project to work on?

Projects that allow for collaboration and brainstorming with both clients and internal team members are particularly exciting. I enjoy the process of bouncing ideas around, refining them, and ultimately seeing them come to life in a campaign that exceeds the client's expectations.

What brightens your day outside of work?

I love being outside, as well as being surrounded by good company, whether that is with friends or family. This could be a hike in the Highlands, going for dinner with friends, or enjoying a summer’s evening at Portobello beach.

What is the best piece of advice you would give for SME’s looking to optimise their marketing?

At the moment, recruitment marketing is a priority in every industry. The best piece of advice I would give to SMEs looking to optimize their recruitment marketing is to focus on building and communicating a strong employer brand.

This can be done by clearly identifying and showcasing company culture, vision and values, through optimising job descriptions and continuously measuring and iterating the performance of the recruitment marketing to attract the right talent.

By prioritising your employer brand and implementing these strategies you will reduce hiring costs, and build a strong and motivated team that drives the success of your business.

How do you see Genoa Black’s marketing consultancy offering changing over the next 5 years?

I see our marketing consultancy growing to meet the following areas:

  • Integration of AI automation: It will be interesting to increasingly incorporate AI into our marketing consultancy services, to streamline efficiencies and in delivering tailored and innovative client solutions.

  • Championing industries and sharpening vertical expertise: We will continue to deepen our expertise in specific industry verticals, delivering more targeted solutions to successfully service complex client needs.

  • Expanding our partner pool: We will strategically work with equally innovative, experienced partners that enhance our capabilities in delivering unparalled client growth.
